A small collection of seaside treasures. As a kid I loved to collect seashells. I unearthed my childhood shell collection while I was working on this painting and I included some of my favorites.
This original watercolor painting was created as part of my Marine Minis Collection inspired by the wonder and magic of the sea. It has been painted on 100% cotton, cold-press watercolor paper. It comes framed as pictured here in a 6×6 inch vintage frame with a brass ring for hanging. It is the perfect size for filling out an awkward space in a gallery wall, or adding a touch of whimsy to a bookshelf.
I loved creating this collection inspired by the sea with a touch of folklore and whimsy. The sea makes me feel both small and connected to something larger at the same time. Looking out at the water, I imagine both a vastness of space and an abundance of life and I fall in love with the world just a little bit more. I wanted to bring a tiny reminder of that feeling into each piece.
